Tweeting Meaning Economic Recovery?

I just read a newswire report from Reg Henry the Pittsburg Post-Gazette Now newspaper that if you search online for Tweeting Meaning, that if you are hooked on Tweeting, Twittering that the Tweet Tweet is not a canary appearing in the middle of a sentence.

Reg claims that if you are tweeting that you are unfocussed and essentially wasting your time but I have to 100% disagree with this reporters take on things.

Before I take a shot at Reg Henry here, I have never met the man, but we have to look at where he works at when he claims that by tweeting you are distracted and he has the audacity to say this:

Oh yes, this is how the world ends – not with a bang but a Twitter

I am claiming this in my headline “Tweeting Meaning Economic Recovery”

But how can I make such a bold claim you ask about a service like Twitter and all this twitting going on certainly would sound like a distraction to a guy that works at a traditional media job like a newspaper.

Before I go on any further you should check out what just happened to the Seattle Post Intelligencer Newspaper.

Yeah, after delivering a local daily newspaper for over 140 years they have ceased there physical delivery and will only be delivering their news online.

Why is that happening?

Why would a major city daily newspaper cease their physical publication?

The answer is simple.

We are now full throttle moving into the information age, this new age of media and advertising has been brewing and bubbling for a little over 10 years now and that ties directly into this economic crisis we are seeing.

The Great Depression of the 1930’s came hot off the heals of a changing world. Previous to the Great Depression the world economy was primarily an agricultural economy and in that economy small locally based Ma-n-Pa shops thrived but then something happened.

Motor cars replaced horse and buggy, airplanes took to the skies and various other means of transportation made it convenient for regular people to go to far off places which left the small locally based Ma-n-Pa businesses in the dust for the national big box big brand shops that took advantage of emerging media such as radio and television to get in front of an audience thus making it impossible for Ma and Pa’s business to survive.

The Industrial age was alive and growing, those that adapted to that changing world thrived and millions and billions of dollars were made

But then something happened!

A new media source entered the world and started gaining popularity around 1994. There were twits (pun intended) that said this new internet thing is a passing fad and will be gone in a couple years.

Did the internet go away and die along with fads like Pac Man, the Rubik’s Cube or Leg Warmers?

No, it didn’t go away did it!

Now the internet has met the mobile communication devices, you can’t exactly call them cell phone anymore can you because your mobile communication device gives you access to what was supposed to have been a passing fad and here we are with the internet everywhere we go.

Suddenly we are tweeting each other via this growing frenzy and obsession with Twitter.

Twitting is rapidly replacing traditional media along with various other online social media sources as a way for business owners in the new economy in this information to stay connected with their potential customers.

Corporate America, if you are question tweeting meaning any benefit to your business then you better sort this out now or you will be left looking like a twit to your competitors that get it. (And yes, there was another tweet of a pun in this paragraph)
